Serena Williams Returns to Court with 19‑Year‑Old Partner Victoria Mboko

London, June 4, 2026 – The tennis world has been buzzing with news of Serena Williams’ comeback as she prepares to play doubles alongside 19‑year‑old Canadian Victoria Mboko at the Queen’s Club.

Williams, who stepped away from the sport in 2022 after a storied 23‑time Grand Slam singles career, is set to re‑enter the professional circuit as a wild‑card entrant in the prestigious grass‑court tournament. Mboko, ranked No. 9 in Canada, is 25 years Williams’ junior and brings a youthful vigor that complements the legend’s experience.

During a practice session on the club’s grass courts, Williams appeared ready and motivated, donning a purple top and white pants. The training session, covered by the Associated Press, showcased Williams’ unmistakable power and precision. Mboko posted a celebratory Instagram caption: “The Queen is back – an honor to share the court with one of the greatest athletes of all time.” The post captured the excitement surrounding the duo’s partnership.

Both players outlined what their collaboration means to them. Mboko stated that she looks up to Williams significantly, describing the opportunity to work with her as “exciting.” For Williams, the move represents a strategic return that respects her legacy and offers her a fresh tournament slate leading to Wimbledon and the U.S. Open. The duo’s partnership has already sparked speculation about how a dynamic mix of experience and youthful energy can influence doubles strategy in upcoming tournaments.

The event is scheduled for the week beginning June 5 at Queen’s Club and will mark the first of several appearances over the next months. The clash of eras—Williams’ veteran skill against Mboko’s emerging style—is expected to draw extensive media attention and fan curiosity alike.

While Williams has yet to confirm her participation at Wimbledon or the U.S. Open, her return in doubles marks a pivotal moment. The tennis community awaits the performance of this intriguing pairing, which could set new standards in doubles competition and inspire a new generation of players.
