Princeton Theological Seminary launches Spiritual Practices Micro-Certificate for Young Adult Leaders
Princeton Theological Seminary announced on Oct. 1, 2026 that it is offering an online Spiritual Practices Micro‑Certificate for young adult leaders.
The program targets adults aged 23‑32 who are seeking intentional spiritual formation to support their leadership roles, vocational decisions and overall well‑being.
Four four‑to‑six‑week micro‑courses comprise the certificate: Christian Discernment, Sabbath Practices, Pilgrimage Practices, and Prayer Practices. Each course blends self‑guided curriculum with facilitated small‑group discussion to encourage reflective dialogue.
- Christian Discernment: a six‑week course (Jan. 14‑Feb. 18, 2027) that helps participants explore God’s call and develop a discernment toolkit.
- Sabbath Practices: a four‑week course (Nov. 1‑27, 2026 or Mar. 10‑Apr. 7, 2027) focused on cultivating habits of rest and wholeness to prevent burnout.
- Pilgrage Practices: a six‑week course (Oct. 13‑Nov. 24, 2026 or Mar. 23‑May 4, 2027) that introduces the history and stages of Christian pilgrimage and its transformative potential.
- Prayer Practices: a five‑week course (Sept. 12‑Oct. 15, 2027) that guides participants in contemplative prayer, reflective exercises and diverse prayer approaches.
“We know that spiritual practices contribute to young adults’ growth as Christians and as leaders,” said Polaris Director the Rev. Shari Oosting. “At this stage in their lives, they often feel pressured to choose a path professionally and personally — or question the one they’re on — which can be overwhelming. This is a chance to slow down, reflect, and connect with others who want to listen and faithfully respond to God’s call in their lives.”
The courses are fully online and may be taken individually, though completing all four earns the Micro‑Certificate. Bundling the four courses provides a discount of more than $100, and scholarships are available through an application process.
Enrollment for the first offering begins in October, and interested learners can register through the seminary’s website.
