June 9, 2026 Duncanville, Texas: Street Racing Crash Claims Three Lives

At approximately 8:45 p.m. on Monday, June 8, police responded to a major collision at the intersection of West Wheatland Road and South Cedar Ridge Drive in Duncanville, Texas. Officials determined the impact involved a white Chrysler 300 and a gray Toyota Corolla. The collision was severe enough that the driver of the Chrysler was able to escape without major injuries, while the Corolla carried four occupants, including a 12‑year‑old boy, a 50‑year‑old mother, a 78‑year‑old grandmother, and the boy’s cousin.

Victims of the crash included the boy and his mother, who both died at the scene. The grandmother was also pronounced dead. A second child was transported to a local hospital and remains in critical, but stable, condition. The driver of the Chrysler, who was the sole occupant of his vehicle, sustained only minor injuries.

Police investigators have identified the cause of the crash as a likely illegal street racing incident. Footage and witness statements indicate that the two vehicles were traveling westbound on Wheatland Road at a high rate of speed when the Chrysler struck the Corolla’s passenger side. The investigation has led to the arrest of two men, who remain in custody while formal charges are pending. Authorities anticipate felony charges, such as reckless driving and unlawful street racing, among other offenses.

The Duncanville Police Department’s Traffic Unit and Criminal Investigations Division continue the investigation. Officers encourage anyone with additional information to contact Officer Luna at 972‑707‑3854 or the department’s Criminal Investigations Division at 972‑780‑5037.

Parts of the roadway were closed for several hours as investigators processed the scene. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers associated with illegal street racing and the devastating impacts on families and communities.
