The CO Congress is Trying To Take Your Parental Rights Away

Colorado’s HB25-1312, introduced in the 2025 legislative session, is a dangerous bill that threatens parental rights, family autonomy, and free speech. Marketed as a safeguard for transgender individuals, it far exceeds that intent, handing the state unchecked authority to meddle in private family matters and punish parents for resisting ideological indoctrination. For our families, our freedoms, and our children’s well-being, we must urge our representatives to vote no.

Gender ideology in schools is less education and more indoctrination, convincing kids that normal puberty struggles or liking toys tied to one sex means they’re transgender. Schools twist this into a narrative that discomfort or nonconformity equals a new identity. Early education should focus on fundamentals—math, English, history—free from bias, not serve as a platform for gender propaganda or LGBT agendas. Kids don’t need lessons on sex or identity; they need basics. HB25-1312 would enable relentless exposure to gender ideology from a young age. It’s a pipeline for grooming—coercing kids into identities they’re too young to understand.

The bill also labels "deadnaming" (using a child’s birth name) and "misgendering" (using biological pronouns) as "coercive control" in custody disputes. If a parent rejects the identity a child’s been taught to adopt, they could lose custody.

This isn’t protection—it’s thought control. The state says: submit to our ideology, accept the conditioning we’ve imposed, or we’ll take your kids.

Moreover, HB25-1312 gags free speech, branding "deadnaming" and "misgendering" as discriminatory under Colorado law. Parents could be penalized for using a daughter’s birth name or saying "he" to a son, even if rooted in literal biology. This forces compliance with a state-dictated worldview, shredding the right to raise kids according to personal values—a bedrock of freedom.

Children are impressionable, and flooding them with gender ideology will undoubtedly cause confusion and regret. Pushing identity narratives can lead to permanent decisions that kids may want to undo but are unable to.

The reality is, HB25-1312 is a heinous example of government overreach. It greenlights indoctrination, punishes resistance, and fractures families—all under a false banner of care. This is literally Chinese style indoctrination. Coloradans must reject this bill. Vote no to shield the parent-child bond, protect free speech, and keep the state out of our homes. Families, not bureaucrats, should steer our kids’ futures.
